The aim of research is to prove unfounded terminological interpretation of the term “agrarian sector of economy of Ukraine” as “agro-industrial complex”. In the research there are used the basic methods of scientific knowledge. Among them: the dialectic, the abstract logic (theoretical generalizations and formulation of conclusions), monographic (the analysis of scientific researches to the definitions of essentially of agricultural complex). The element of innovation is the justification of baselessness of terminological interpretation of “agrarian sector of economy of Ukraine” as “agro-industrial complex” of areas of basic relations in the absence of economically reasonable and sustainable in time between the three structural factors to build macroeconomic proportions among the five areas that affect the formation and development of agro-industrial production in market conditions. The article is summarized theories and concepts to determining the economic essence of agro-industrial complex. It is substantiated of baselessness of terminological interpretation of the term “agrarian sector of economy of Ukraine” as “agro-industrial complex”. It is determined that the development of relations in agriculture have undergone radical structural changes during the transition from a planned economy to a market economy. Refs.: 19.
