The purpose of the article is to identify main scientific developments of the economists-agrarians of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAN), and characterize content of the key positions and mechanisms, their application’s sphere, scope, and effectiveness, as well as possibility of implementation in modern conditions. Research methods. In the research process have been used the following scientific methods: historical, monographic, abstract and logical methods, statistical-economic and calculation-constructive for evaluating effectiveness based on the dialectical approach. Research results. On basis of analysis of the scientific research in system of NAAN and its predecessors, the most resonant and effective developments in agriculture and other related spheres have been identified. The basic content of such developments, their scientific novelty and practical significance, nature of influence on economic development of the industry, separate mechanisms of such developments, which had the greatest influence on the industry, have been outlined. The key directions for further economic researches on solving problems of the agrarian sector of the economy have been formulated. Elements of scientific novelty. The methodological approach has been applied in order to formate a content of the scientific developments based on the logical, organizational, and economic and causal combination of their results. Practical significance. The research results provide an opportunity to evaluate the scientific developments of the agrarian economists in the historical retrospective, taking into account peculiarities of each stage of development of the agrarian sphere. Moreover, the results can also be used to determine perspective directions for economic research and substantiation of their results. Refs.: 8
